Intro

INTRODUCTION

Blood cells morphological changes can occur in both haematological and non-haematological disorders. The skill to recognize the cells’ features is an important component in morphological interpretation.

The interpretation of morphological findings of blood cells requires a skillful operator with both knowledge and experiences. This skill is the most important part in haematological diagnosis. Correct morphological descriptions will ensure a correct diagnosis especially when complemented with other diagnostic methods. Understanding blood cells and the ability to recognize their morphological association with other clinical and laboratory tests is essential for reaching a definitive diagnosis even in complicated cases.
